Some of you may have been wondering if ALL of my toys for the next fourteen months were going to be inspired by Kata Golda. Although I love her book and her work, this is not the case. In addition to making another set of Halloween kittens for my parents, here is my latest creation:
It's Evelyn Inchworm! This was really fun and easy to sew. The biggest challenge was cutting the glasses so that they looked like spectacles instead of goggles or a bandit's mask. I'm not sure I got it exactly right this time; I think I should have made the eye holes larger. I ruined the first two pairs of glasses when I did that, so I think I was too conservative with this third pair.
The pattern for Miss Evelyn and 23 other adorable toys can be found in here Wee Wonderfuls: 24 Dolls to Sew and Love by Hilary Lang. Hilary Lang also has a blog called Wee Wonderfuls that I really enjoy. I think several gifts for Little Tiger and The Milk Belly Princess are going to come from here. If you've looked at Hilary's book and blog and STILL don't think she's amazing, check out the promotional video that she and her husband made for her book.
Happy Weekend Everyone!
