Wow, it's been awhile. I hope that all of you are well. Since my last post, Little Tiger and The Milk Belly Princess have both succumbed to and recovered from two different bugs. There's nothing like the sinking feeling that comes with hearing a strange cough in the middle of the night followed by a toddler's cry of "I throwed up!"
Luckily, before the girls got sick I'd crafted ahead for some upcoming events (one more mouse and two Halloween kitties). I also have quite a few partially finished projects in the works.
It has been hard to stay inside and craft with how amazing the recent weather has been. We've been trying to enjoy as much of this mild fall weather as possible by partaking of some of our favorite outdoor activities. Not only has Little Tiger enjoyed riding her bike, she's now riding on only TWO WHEELS! No more training wheels! The Milk Belly Princess is still little too small for a bike (truth be told, she's inherited her mother's Corgi-like legs and can't quite reach the pedals of her tricycle). Instead, she has aspired to some outdoor artistic endeavors:
She's responsible for the swirly circle. A very sweet neighbor girl drew the chalk rendering of The Milk Belly Princess.
The swirls might be her response to the dizzying effect of her sister's two wheels whirling around as she bikes off into the distance. I like these 2 photos together. It's a bike-chalk conversation.

Oh, man. I think I've failed as a mother. Mariam is almost seven and still using training wheels. With no end in sight.

Don't feel bad. I think I was 8 or 9 when I learned to ride w/o training wheels. This skill was given priority in our house by her daddy who is in need of a future companion on his 50 mile bike rides.

It's no fun when your kids are sick. I'm glad you're out the other side.
And hooray for 2 wheels!
