...and the sewing continues with small, stuffed loveys continuing to be the project of choice. It's 5AM, I just learned that I have a SNOW DAY today and I'm basking in the knowledge that I get to stay in my pjs instead of going out in the cold and convincing my students that, no really, the themes of "Romeo and Juliet" ARE relevant to the youth of today.
Actually, it's a good thing that I don't have school today. I need to put the finishing touches on my book project. I spent three Saturdays this month participating in a class offered through the art museum called The Artful Page. We learned about the history of books and made our own books and paper. More about this later, but before I go I want to share two recent creations. Here is my most recent lovey, a puppy for the baby of one of my friends. This baby and his mama have a preference for bright colors and I was a little nervous about how the outfit was going to come together. I stepped out of my comfort zone with the bright green and it worked surprisingly well. In the future, I'm going to try to use more patch pockets because I really like how these add a burst of color to the pants..
Here is Little Tiger with the birthday present she made for her grandpa. She's especially proud because she took some extra time on the arms and legs. The pattern only used one piece of felt for each appendage but Little Tiger said that she didn't want the bear to have "flippers" so we made proper, stuffed arms and legs.
Excellent work on Grandpa's gift! The smiling expression is so friendly. Creating fully stuffed limbs was a good choice. Grandpa can give this bear a good hug for his birthday. Beautiful design modification, Little Tiger.
