The back yard is fast becoming Little Tiger's favorite place as she prepares her fairy houses and garden for warm weather visitors. We first read about fairy houses in the books by Tracy Kane. You can find information about her books and pictures of completed fairy houses here. Hopefully, we'll have some of our own to share before the summer is over.
I don't think that a fairy rain barrel is one of Bilibo's advertised uses, but that is the role it currently plays here.
When creating a fairy house and garden, the first thing to do is find a good location. According to Little Tiger, fairies like moss, lots and lots of moss. Then it is important to find something at least a little bit sparkly to attract them. Ideally, it should be a natural object. I wasn't sure about these decorative stones, but Little Tiger thought they were perfect.
Like anyone arriving home after a long journey, the fairies will probably be tired and interested in a nice soft bed. Little Tiger made these from moss and sea shells.
I'm not sure who is having more fun, Little Tiger preparing her fairy house, or me watching her.
I love it. I am going to do this with my daughter
